If you’re looking for an outdoor trail that offers a view and a semi-challenging hike, then you should consider paying a visit to Trigg Beach and taking a hike in the Trigg Bushland Reserve.
This part of the coast is located off West Coast Highway (just before Scarborough Beach). The trail offers uphill and downhill descents on the road adjacent to the coast. So essentially, once you start to catch your breath after an uphill section, you’ll lose it again taking in views of the pristine coast line.
There are multiple places to start the hike depending on which entrance you use. I opted to park at St Mary’s School (located off Elliot Road).
I spent an hour navigating my way along the Trigg Bushland loop trail (which includes the return distance) but you can easily spend longer exploring the area or less if you want to up the cardio and jog/run.
But let’s not forget the best part… once you’re done, you can jump back into your car and continue driving along the coast to soak up the view, pay a visit to a local cafe or walk along the shore.
